Action
To check computers and other devices registered to you in NetReg, the University's wired network access tool, follow the steps below.
Instructions
- Go to https://netreg.albany.edu and click the green Enter button
- Enter your NetID and password and click Sign In or OK
- You will see a table of devices registered to you with details about each device:
- Hostname: The network name of the device
- Hardware address: The unique ID assigned to the device's network card. See also Network - Find hardware network (MAC) address.
- Mode: Static or Dynamic IP address. Static will always have one IP address while Dynamic will change IP address periodically.
- IP Address: The assigned network address, if the mode is set to Static. See also Network - Find IP address.
- Subnet: The area in which it is registered, typically a building or floor
- Devices are allowed to be registered in multiple Subnets
- To edit a device's details, click on the Hostname link for it.
To add a device, click the Register New Machine link near the top and follow the steps at Wired Network - Register a Computer in NetReg.
