Below are general steps for troubleshooting access to a service. Particular services may have other specific steps or requirements to add.

  1. Do you know how to access the service?
    • Accurate address/URL
    • Open correct app
    If no, find instructions or a trustworthy link.

  2. Can you access other web and network resources?
    • Try a few common web sites
    • Try another web browser
    If no, try another device/computer or troubleshoot wired network or wireless network connections.

  3. Do you have permission to access the service?
    If no, contact the owner, provider, or office in charge of it to request permission.

  4. Can you log in?
    • Correct username and password
    • Try resetting password
    • Try other, related services

  5. Do you have permission to access the areas you need within the service?

    If no, contact the owner, provider, or office in charge of it to request permission.
