The app can work with or without WiFi and cellular networks access.

  • Push notification - with wireless or cell data access, the app provides easy Approve/Deny notification on your phone. No need to type in a six-digit code.
  • Passcode -  without wireless or cell data access, the app can generate a numeric passcode that you can enter when prompted by Duo.
  • No text charges using the app - The SMS option limits you to cellular network connections only (where data and roaming rates may occur).  Please note that if you select SMS and do not have a cellular signal, you will not be able to authenticate and gain access.
