Before attempting to configure a mail client or mobile device, please confirm that your password is initialized for the University's email system.

  1. Go to
  2. Log in with your Windows Live ID (your University email address) and your password.
  3. If you are successful with the logon to Outlook Web Access (OWA), you can Sign Out and proceed with configuring your client or device.
  4. If you are NOT successful ... 
    1. Error: "The email address or password is incorrect.  Please try again."  indicates your UAlbany Mail password is not initialized. Complete the Password Reset.
    2. Error:  "Account is locked" indicates you have too many failed logon attempts; contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
