The University's voicemail system can be used to distribute important information to various segments of the campus community by affiliation (faculty and staff) or locality across the three campuses and satellite locations. All broadcast messages are subject to authorization and approval by senior management as specified in the companion document Broadcast Voicemail Policy Procedures and Guidelines for Use.
Broadcast voicemails are an effective way to convey important information to targeted populations of the University community. As with all forms of mass communication, broadcast messages must be approved by senior level management.
All broadcast messages must be authorized by the President, Provost, a Vice President or the CIO. The authorizer (or designee) is responsible for providing the full text of all messages. The Office of Telecommunications is responsible for confirming authorization, recording and distributing the broadcast message, and notifying the authorizer when the process is complete.
Current procedures and guidelines can be found in the ITS companion to this document, Broadcast Voicemail Policy Procedures and Guidelines for Use. The Office of the Chief Information Officer shall establish guidelines and procedures as may be appropriate for the implementation of this policy.
