Adding Funds to SUNYCard Online

  • Adding funds onlines
    1. Go to https://www.albany.edu/uas/ualbanyid.php
    2. Select UAlbanyID.com from the center of the page
    3. Login with NetID and password
    4. Select 'Deposit Funds' from the menu on the left of the page
    5. Under 'Login to GET', select 'Click here to login'
    6. Under Quick Links, select Add Funds
    7. Enter the Deposit Amount to be added, and then Select an Account- choose Podium
      1. Note: credit card deposits have a minimum of $10
    8. Complete all the Credit Card Information and select Continue at the bottom of the screen
    9. Confirm the transaction is correct, and select Add Funds at the bottom of the screen
  • Credit card funds can be added by visiting the SUNYCard Office in person

Adding Funds to SUNYCard In-Person

  • Directions to add physical cash onto Cards are on the SUNYCard machines

  • Printing/Copying must be paid for with a SUNYCard, or a Podium Value Card 
  • Podium Value Cards can be purchased for $1 from a SUNYCard machine, and funds can then be added to the card
    • Note: funds must be added to Podium Value Cards, they have no starting balance

The Circulation Desk is no longer able to provide change to students

  • Black & White Printer: north and south sides of the Information Commons (1st floor)
  • Color Printer: IMC (basement)

SCI

  • Black & White printer: three in the Information Commons west side, and 1 in the Information Commons east side (1st floor)
  • Color printer: one next to the public scanners in Information Commons (1st floor)

DEWEY

  • Black & White printer: 1st floor and basement
  • Color printer: 1st floor next to bookscanner


Common Issues

  • Staff should notify ITS desk of issues with jams/paper shortages
    • Note: Circulation staff may add paper and fix paper jams if ITS is unavailable
    • Note: Key to unlock copiers is in the key box
  • If problem cannot be solved, staff should report issues using Library help request form and place an 'Out of Order' sign on the machine, monitors should be turned off

  • For bad copies: patrons should fill out the Refund Request form located at the circulation desk. 
    • Patrons should return the form with the bad copy sheets attached to the refund form.
    • Note: Refund Request forms should be put in Administrative Services mailbox in back of LI 119
  • Use of the department card to comp the copies is permitted if the job is limited pages

Common Issues

  • Staff should notify Jim Scalera for all printer needs Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 2:45 PM
    • Note: Jim handles the toners

  • On off-hours, staff should notify ITS desk of issues with jams/paper shortages
    • Note: Circulation staff may add paper and fix paper jams if ITS is unavailable
    • Note: If problem cannot be solved, staff should report issues using Library help request form and place an 'Out of Order' sign on the machine

Common Issues

  • Suggest patron try a different scanner (if available)
  • Try restarting the machine 
    • Press the power button under the ScannX screen once to turn the machine off. Press it again to restart it. 
  • Staff should report issues using Library help request form and place an 'Out of Order' sign on the machine

  • Problems can be directed to the SUNYCard Office.
    • Note: Only the SUNYCard Office can issue refunds or check balance issues.
  • Use of the department card to comp the printing is permitted if the printing job is limited pages

Bad Copies/Bad Prints/Lost Funds

Bad Copies/Bad Prints

  • For bad copies/prints: patrons should fill out the Refund Request form located at the circulation desk. 
    • Patrons should return the form with the bad copy sheets attached to the refund form.
    • Note: Refund Request forms should be put in Administrative Services mailbox in back of LI 119

  • If the needed copies/prints are limited, the bad copies/prints are through no fault of the patron, and the issue can be resolved using the department card rather than a refund, use of the department card is permitted 

Lost Funds to SUNYCard Machine

  • When patron puts money in the SUNYCard Machine but the money is not added to their balance
  • Patron should fill out UAlbany ID Card Terminal Error / Funds not added to Patron’s Card and return it to the circulation desk
    • Note: Forms should be put in Administrative Services mailbox in back of LI 119
  • If the needed copies/prints are limited, the bad copies/prints are through no fault of the patron, and the issue can be resolved using the department card rather than a refund, use of the department card is permitted 

Mistaken Purchase of Printer Card

  • The University Library does not offer refunds or the department card for the purchase of a printing card
  • Patrons who would like to submit a complaint about purchasing a printing card can be directed toward the SUNYCard office.

Mistaken Double-Printing

  • The University Library does not offer refunds to patrons who mistakenly print multiple copies of their jobs.


When not to use the Department Card

  • There is no evidence of a printing/copying problem
  • If the issue results from patron error
  • If it is suspected that a patron is trying to get free prints and doesn't have a real equipment issue 

Department cards are kept in the cash register. Complete a No Sale to retrieve.
