University Libraries Items Requested By Our Patrons

  1. Pull requested items

  2. Check each item in

    • Make sure you have chosen your Library Location

  3. Route item as appropriate:

    • On Hold – place hold receipt in item and place item on hold shelf

    • Transfer to ULIB, Science, or Dewey – place item in appropriate gray bin

    • Transfer to Office Delivery
      • Return the item at the Resource Sharing Circulation Desk in Alma
        • A window will pop up that says The item’s destination is: PATRON NAME : Work Address
          • At this point, the item has been checked out to the patron
            • A receipt will print from the receipt printer labeled "Personal Delivery Checked out to Patron"
      • Place item in a new envelope, write the patron's name and campus address on envelope, and place item in an intercampus mail bin next to staff mailboxes in LI-119
      • **Helpful Tip** ----> You can cut the patron's name and office address off of the transfer slip and tape it on the envelope using the clear packing tape in LI-125, instead of handwriting the information <---

    • Transfer to Home Delivery (only process in LI-125)
      • Return the item at the Resource Sharing Circulation Desk in Alma
        • A window will pop up that says The item’s destination is: PATRON NAME : Home Address
          • At this point, the item has been checked out to the patron
            • A receipt will print from the receipt printer labeled "Personal Delivery Checked out to Patron"
      • Go to ILLiad and search the patron's name
        • Click the Print User button
          • A UPS address will print
        • Place the address label in the book and leave on the outgoing mail truck in LI-125
