Prusa i3 MK3 Printer

The Prusa brand of 3D printers are some of the highest quality 3D printers you can buy today. They build their brand on great support, guaranteed quality, and great print quality right out of the box. We have two of their models of printers at the makerspace, the Mk3 and the Mini.

Covid-19 Relief

During the spring semester of 2020, the Corona virus disturbed the lives of many. We at CEHC did not stand by and do nothing. Using our Makerspace's 3D printers, we got together with the community and made a difference in the fight against the virus. Together we delivered over 5,200 face shields to Albany Medical and other front line workers. We printed the 3DVerkstan model of face shield, which has undergone clinical review by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and found to be appropriate for a medical setting. We have sense remixed the model and added CEHC to the brim, our model can be found here.

With the return to campus in the Fall, and the state wide mask requirement, we have also been printing mask relief straps or "EarSavers" as we refer to them. We have remixed all the models we print to have some sort of CEHC branding, but the originals were all found on the NIH's Covid-19 3D print response page. Bellow is a table of how many EarSavers we could get out of a 1KG spoll of 3D filament on both our printer models. Each model links to the .obj file needed to print:
